Nuisance barking is a communication problem, not a discipline problem

A dog that barks at every passing car, every doorbell, every neighbor on the stairs is not being difficult. It has learned that barking makes things happen, and nobody has given it a clearer signal to work with. A training collar is one of the tools people reach for at that point, and it works best when it is treated as a signal rather than a punishment.

This one leads with the gentlest options: a beep first, vibration if the beep is ignored, with eight sensitivity levels so it responds to your dog's bark and not to the dog next door.

Key Features

  • Beep and vibration modes - a tone and a buzz your dog can learn to associate with quiet, which is where any training should start.
  • Eight sensitivity levels - so a whippet's yip and a shepherd's bark are not treated the same, and background noise does not trigger it.
  • LCD display - mode, level and battery are on the screen, not guessed from a blinking light.
  • Rechargeable - USB charging with a low-battery reminder, no coin cells to hunt for.
  • IP67 water resistance - stands up to rain and a muddy walk.
  • Fits 8 to 120 lb - a 27 in strap that cuts to length, so it works from a small terrier to a large shepherd.

How to use it properly

  1. Start at the lowest setting. Beep only, lowest sensitivity. Move up one step at a time and only if the previous one does nothing.
  2. Fit it snugly, high on the neck. Two fingers under the strap. A loose collar reads movement as barking and misfires.
  3. Limit wear to a few hours a day. Take it off overnight and check the skin underneath daily.
  4. Reward the silence. The collar interrupts the bark; you are the one who teaches what to do instead. Without that half, nothing sticks.
  5. Find out why first. A dog barking from separation distress or pain needs a vet or a behaviorist, not a collar.

Common Mistakes

  • Jumping straight to the strongest setting. A dog that cannot tell what triggered the correction learns anxiety, not quiet.
  • Leaving it on all day. Continuous wear causes pressure sores. A few hours, then off.
  • Fitting it loosely. The most common cause of a collar that seems not to work, or that fires at nothing.
  • Using it on a puppy under six months, or on a dog barking from fear. Neither situation is a training problem, and a collar makes both worse.

In the box: 1 x training collar with charging cable. Please check your local regulations before use - rules on bark-control collars differ by state and country.
